Being a predatory fish this species lends itself well to the Tenkara Method.

Tips.

• Try dapping around structures such as wharfs and moored boats particularly in shaded areas 

• Don’t be shy to try on protected surf beaches such as coves and bays, flathead are often just behind the break.

• Casting around drain mouths and drop-offs in estuary systems using a kayak is very rewarding and the simplicity is a welcome experience
